Sarah Freeman has been with the NCU athletic department since
2006. Hired as an administrative assistant, she quickly rose
through the ranks to become the Athletic Business Manager and in
2011 was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director.
Freeman is a key player in the larger Northwest Christian
University community, serving as a co-chair of the Undergraduate
Retention Committee, teaching a First-Year Seminar class, and
working on the Advising Committee. She has lead a number of
initiatives related to student-athlete retention, spiritual
formation, and academic success.
Freeman's role includes budget management, facility coordination,
calendaring and Morse Event Center rentals, supervising student
employees, travel coordination, and academic support.
After graduating from Oregon in 2001 with a Bachelors degree in
Sociology, Freeman spent four years in aviation technology and
airport management. She received her private pilot's license and
was pursuing her commercial license in Southern California when she
decided spending eight hours a day in a cockpit was not the
direction she wanted to go.
Freeman earned her MBA from Northwest Christian University in
2010.
Favorite Bible Verse: 1 Pater 1:6-7 In this you
greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you
have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your
faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it
is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the
revelation of Jesus Christ, (New King James)
Favorite NCU Memory: There are so many great
ones from staff retreats, nail biting games, Mr. Beacon
performances, FYS skits, making a staff music video, doing a staff
dance for Beacon Madness… I just can't pick one.
Favorite hangout spot in Eugene: Any place I
can watch sports or shop!
