I am both a Pastor serving a congregation & a Professor. I want to keep real what I teach in the classroom.

I grew up in one of the largest churches in California and have great memories of that great church in Orange County. I have been a youth and Senior Pastor since in 1979. I specialize in turn-around churches, having been ordained both as a Pastor and an Evangelist (as described in I & II Timothy-working with established churches to strengthen them). I have worked with turn-around Churches in the high desert of California, the coast of Oregon, and now in the mountains of Oregon near Bend.

Along the way I have been a commander of a Mountain Rescue Team with the San Bernardino Sheriff's Office, a Medic with the S.B. Fire Department, a volunteer/jack of all trades with a National Park, a Christmas tree and sheep farmer. Yearly I head to Israel, taking groups with me. There we walk and explore in a multi-sensory way bringing to life the accounts of Scripture. Life is way too short not to enjoy the many opportunities.

I have a passion to take hurting churches and rebuild them into thriving faith communities. High Lakes CHRISTian Church in La Pine, Oregon is where I currently preach. We have grown from 90 to over 300 in the last few years with over 100 baptisms. The key? Not me! The keys? A wonderful God, his awesome Son and Spirit working with us to create passionate, applicable Biblical preaching; elders who wonderfully, relationally function as coaches and mentors; healthy small groups with discipleship woven into all we do and relationships, not cold rules.

Blessings.
