Frank Paliotta is a native New Yorker having relocated to the
'Duck' state, upon his marriage to Patty in 2009. He
graduated from Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York in May 1968
and started his professional career with Arthur Andersen and Co., a
big 8 CPA firm at that time. After leaving Arthur Andersen for a
job as Controller for one of their audit clients, he spent the next
22 years in industry as a Controller, VP of Finance and Chief
Financial Officer before obtaining a position in academia, a
life-long dream of his.
Frank has spent the last 20 years teaching accounting,
finance and business courses at colleges in New York City, Long
Island and currently in Eugene. After graduating from Manhattan
College with a Bachelor's degree in accounting, Frank also
earned his Master's degree in accounting from Manhattan.
While working in academia, Frank attended New York University
and worked on his doctorate degree in business education, and
completed all classes and a portion of his doctoral thesis.
He is hopeful of completing his dissertation in the near
future.
Frank is also a Certified Public Accountant and when not in the
classroom he maintains a private tax practice with about fifty
individual and six corporate clients.
Frank teaches primarily accounting and tax classes and
occasionally business and finance courses. He is currently a
member of two professional organizations. His research
interests are in the areas of auditing and tax.
Frank and his lovely wife have five sons and one daughter, four
daughters-in-law and at last count ten grandchildren. Having grown
up in the Bronx, Frank is a devoted fan of New York sports teams,
especially the Yankees. He is also a huge Beacon and Duck fan. His
hobbies include playing chess and gin rummy.
