Bonnie began working in adult studies in 2009. Prior to that,
she worked for five years as assistant registrar. Now, as student
assessment advisor, Bonnie evaluates students' academic, work, and
life experiences, helping them map out a plan to meet their
educational and career goals. She enjoys coordinating the Prior
Learning Assessment program, which helps students earn credit for
college-level learning gained through life and work
experiences.
"I love that NCU gets adult learners! Our evening and
online programs acknowledge that adults have vastly different needs
and desires than those of students entering college at 18 or 19.
Not all colleges understand that, and I'm proud to work at a
university that does. NCU also puts value on a person's 'life
journey' and seeks to affirm the things learned as a result of life
experiences. It's never too late to finish your degree at NCU!"
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a
bachelor's in elementary education, Bonnie taught for several
years. While her children were young, she was a freelance
curriculum writer for Group Publishing of Loveland, CO. She is a
published author and contributing writer for a variety of
publications. Bonnie loves to spend time with friends and family,
camp, walk, read, and cook with her husband Chuck. They have two
college-age children, a grand-dog, three outdoor cats, and
multiplying fish.
Favorite verse: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your
mind; and love your neighbor as yourself." (Luke 10:27, NLT)
