Administrative Assistant & Data Entry Specialist 

The Administrative Assistant & Admission Data Entry Specialist for Admission position reports to the Director of Admission and assists with the daily operations of the Office of Admission and Welcome Center, Athletics, and serves in support of the Vice President for Enrollment & Student Development.  The primary roles of the position are to perform extensive admission data entry, manage the application processing, maintain calendars, organize and facilitate mailings and welcome guests. This position requires the frequent exercise of independent judgment within the assigned areas of responsibility, with the latitude for initiating action on behalf of the Director of Admission.  Strong organizational, typing, and data entry skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, the ability to handle multiple tasks, and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential to this position.  The position will requires the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.

Admission Counselor

Under the direction of the Vice President for Enrollment & Student Development and the Director of Admission, the Admission Counselor will be responsible for providing information regarding the University to prospective students; travel to various cities, in and outside of Oregon, to recruit students and make presentations to high schools and community colleges; review applications, follow up with students, select qualified applicants, and make recommendations regarding admissions and awarding of scholarships to the Vice President and/or Director as appropriate.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology

The person serving in this position will be a champion for and teach primarily in NCU’s adult degree program (ADP) but may also teach traditional daytime undergraduate courses as needed. ADP courses are offered as evening and on-line courses delivered in eight week blocks. The ADP major in psychology emphasizes building a strong foundation in psychology with an integration of faith and learning. The normal teaching load is 24 semester credits per academic year for a 9-month appointment. The person will also serve as Program Director for the ADP psychology program. Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the desire to support the mission of Northwest Christian University are paramount in this position.

Enrollment Advisor

The Enrollment Advisor will be responsible for completing the “on-boarding” admission process for prospective adult degree and graduate program applicants; provide transcript/major course/program evaluation; review and complete applications, follow up with students, select qualified applicants and making recommendations regarding admission to the Vice President and Director of Admission and/or relevant graduate program chair; development of initial academic plan including Prior Learning Assessment.

The Enrollment Advisor’s performance is measured on successful student enrollment in designated programs.

Psychology ADJUNCT Faculty

Northwest Christian University is seeking to fill part-time, fixed-term positions for psychology instructors for summer session 1 (5/13/2013) and session 2 (7/5/2013), and develop a pool of adjunct applicants for potential 2013-2014 teaching opportunities.  The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in psychology with university level teaching experience.  Candidates should be able to teach a variety of undergraduate level classes such as general psychology, abnormal psychology, cognition, personality, social psychology and learning.  The successful candidate will also be able to teach and design both face-to-face and online (Moodle) classes.

Candidates must have a vibrant and maturing Christian faith. Applications are due by April 15, 2013.  Application materials should include a personal statement that addresses how a maturing Christian faith finds expression in the candidate’s personal life, family life, community life, local church membership, and academic discipline (both inside and outside the classroom).
