Celebrating the English Bible: 400 years of the King James Version

2011 marks the 400 year anniversary of publication of what bacame known as theKJV_logo_final King James Version of the Bible. Though largely supplanted today by newer translations in English, the King James Version exercised a tremendous influence on the English and later American Church, on English as a language, and within English literature and culture.

In addition, 2011 marks the centennial anniversary of NCU's own Rare Bible Collection which features many early edition King James Bibles, including a 1613 edition.

In recognition of this monumental work, we are Celebrating the English Bible and exploring the legacy of the King James Bible and the history of English Bibles through a series of activities including special topics courses for our students, Bible displays, and public lectures.

Join us as we celebrate this seminal translation and explore its enduring influence.
