NCU Students Raise Money for Cambodia Cause at Choir Concert
Release Date: Friday, December 09, 2011

At this season's NCU Community Choir concert, Candlelight
Carols, students raised over $600 dollars to fight sex trafficking
in S.E. Asia. NCU students volunteered to help sell fair trade
items handcrafted by young girls rescued from the sex trade. Each
of the items, whether a silk pillow case or a necklace was
individually created by a young girl who has been through a
restoration home, received training and now is beginning a
micro-business. Each May NCU sends a mission team to Cambodia that
works along side non-profits, NGOs and churches to end the sex
trade in and around Phnom Penh. A team of students, staff and
faculty is already preparing to travel to Cambodia this May to
serve the people, churches and justice focused organizations in the
spirit of Christ. If you are interested in purchasing any of these
items you can contact Pastor Troy Dean or visit www.aim4asia.org/silkworks.
