2007-2008 Award Winners

The inaugural 2007-2008 President's Poetry Awards were received with a very enthusiastic response from the Northwest Christian University community. A panel of judges for the event included faculty members Doyle Srader and Jim Gill, staff member Scott Gallagher-Starr, and student Stephen Gleffe.

The Poets were invited to read their submissions at a campus-wide poetry reading on May 28th at the Kellenberger Library, and the winners were announced on May 30th at the Honors Convocation.

Student Division

First Place: Kaitlyn Coppins - "The Inbetween Times"
Second Place: Marla Stewart-Moreno - "Before Me"
Third Place: Derek Miller - "Summer Days"

Faculty/Staff Division

First Place: Dennis Lindsay - "God in the Chapel"
Second Place: Tracy Mullins - "The One in the Boat"
Third Place: Chris Dahlvig - "The Sun Doesn't Shine Anymore"
