SCHOLARSHIPS

Merit Scholarships

First-time freshmen may qualify for $5,000-$11,000 per year by having at least a 3.0 GPA and having at least a 900 SAT/19 ACT. To see what amount of merit scholarships you qualify for click here.

Transfer students may qualify for $3,000-$9,000 per year by having at least a 3.0 college GPA with the completion of at least 36 quarter (24 semester) credit hours. To see what amount of merit scholarships you qualify for click here.

Ethical Leadership Scholarships

Available to all incoming traditional undergraduate students who qualify for Northwest Christian University's merit scholarship program, and have an active role in a Christian church or Christian organization or A leadership role in high school, college, or community service organization. Ethical Leadership Scholarships are available for $500-$1,000 per year based upon the level of leadership experience of the student.

NCU Alumni Scholarship

Grants of $1,500 per year are given to full-time traditional daytime undergraduate students who are children or grandchildren of NCU alumni.

International Student Scholarships

Scholarships of $9,000 per year are available to international students who submit a letter of recommendation from their pastor or minister.

Music Scholarships

Scholarships of $1,000 - $4,000 are available to traditional daytime undergraduate students with musical abilities. An audition is required. For more information, please contact Lance Beaumont in the NCU Music Department. 

Forensics Scholarships

Scholarships of $1,000 - $2,000 are available to traditional daytime undergraduate students with demonstrated abilities in competitive forensics. For more information, please contact Doyle Srader in the NCU Communications Department. 

Athletic Scholarships

Scholarships are available to traditional undergraduate student athletes that will be playing on a Northwest Christian University sports team. All scholarships are determined by the individual coaches and are not guaranteed to all athletes. Endowed Scholarships

Over 40 different Endowed Scholarship funds are awarded each year to traditional undergraduate students in varying amounts based upon merit, need, or specific major. For students with a declared major in ministry or music a separate application is required and due by March 1st of each year.

Merrill Family Foundation Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded each year by the Merrill Family Foundation to traditional undergraduate students who have attended Northwest Christian University for at least one academic year, have a 3.25 GPA or greater, and have demonstrated leadership abilities through community service. Scholarships typically range from $1,000-$3,000 and are for one-year only. A separate application is due on March 1st each year.

Cockerline Memorial Scholarship

One year scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded to traditional undergraduate students who are Oregon residents and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater, and demonstrate need. A separate application is required and due by March 1st each year.

Grants

Federal Pell Grant

Undergraduate students can receive a Pell Grant up to $5,550 per academic year based upon their level of need as determined by the FAFSA.

Federal SEOG Grant

The Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is awarded to undergraduate students who are enrolled at least half-time and show exceptional financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Annual award amounts range from $250 - $500.

Federal TEACH Grant

Grants of $4,000 are awarded to students who are enrolled full-time and are pursuing a degree that leads to teaching in a high need field in a low income district. Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or greater to qualify. An application is required and can be found in the Financial Aid Office, or by clicking here.

Oregon Opportunity Grant

Grants of up to $1,950 are given by the State of Oregon to students who are Oregon residents, enroll at least half-time at a College or University in Oregon, and demonstrate need as determined by the FAFSA.

NCU Need Grant

Awarded to full-time traditional daytime undergraduate students that demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Award amounts range from $600-$6,000 per academic year.

NCU Church Matching Grant

Northwest Christian University will match any donation made by the home church of traditional daytime undergraduate students up to $1,000 per academic year. An application is required and can be found in the Financial Aid Office, or by clicking here.

Heritage Grant

Grants of $2,500 per year are given to full-time traditional daytime undergraduate students who attend a Disciples of Christ (DOC) or Christian Churches (COC).

Minister's Child Grant

Grants of $1,500 per year are given to full-time traditional daytime undergraduate students who are children of ministers and missionaries from the Disciples of Christ (DOC) or Christian Churches (COC).

Sibling Grant

Grants of $750 each are given to full-time traditional daytime undergraduate students who are siblings and attend NCU during in the same academic year.
