Family and Student Sessions

On the Saturday of Orientation parents and students are invited to participate in sessions throughout the afternoon that highlight some of the exciting elements of their new adventure at NCU.  Student sessions include time with the Fish Groups, a Residence Life Meeting, and Commuter sessions.  Parent sessions are hosted by Michael Fuller, NCU's Vice President for Enrollment and Student Development, and focused on how to support their students as they enter college life.

If you're the parent or family member of an incoming student, there are things for you to do too! Check out your Family Orientation Schedule

Twining of the ivy

Every class begins their journey at NCU together through "Twining of the Ivy" ceremony.  This is a way to celebrate and symbolize the unity the students are called and encouraged to live in while at NCU.

You got served!

Throughout a student's time at NCU they are provided opportunities to serve their community both on campus, in the Eugene community, and beyond.  "You Got Served!" is a way for new students to get a glimpse at what some of these opportunities will look like in the future.

Rafting

Experience adventure on the river!  We will spend most of Monday during Orientation on the water, soaking up the sun, splashin through the waves, and experiencing God's creation together. Get a glimpse at last year's river adventure.

 Freshman year Seminar

The Freshman Year Seminar (FYS) is a course taught by NCU professors, staff, and students.  During Orientation freshman get a glimpse into what lessons and themes FYS will hold for them and meet their teaching team.

All this and more awaits during Orientation!  For more information please contact the Director of Student Programs, Sarah Halstead
