Length of time at Northwest Christian:
In total, I've been at Northwest Christian for six years. I entered as a freshman fall 1995, graduated spring 1999, and returned as the Director of Alumni Relations in January 2006.

Hometown:
I've resided in Eugene since 1995. My husband and I have built our life here; Eugene is my hometown.

Favorite Quote/Scripture:
Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  

Identified as my family's verse during the six years we waited for my Dad to receive his liver transplant (of which he is a survivor!). It has since become a personal favorite. I find strength in remembering that God knows all and plans the very best for His children, even when facing various troubles.

Favorite Movie:
Bridget Jones' Diary - one of the funniest movies I've ever seen! But really, does anyone have just one favorite movie?

How did you arrive at Northwest Christian:
I knew I wanted a small, Christian college experience. I sent inquiry cards to multiple Christian colleges across the country but it was Northwest Christian that continued to stand out amongst the crowd.

My admissions counselor had such wonderful stories to tell about her student experience and interactions with faculty. It just seemed to be the right place for me. God had clearly opened a door and I'm so thankful I was willing to walk through.

I had spent over five years in alumni relations for the University of Oregon when I received a call from an employee of Northwest Christian who asked me to apply for the new alumni director position. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity; to create an alumni relations program for one's alma mater.  The job is a great challenge as I re-engage the alumni population; educating and connecting them with today's Northwest Christian is such a reward as I participate in the building of new programs.

What is your favorite thing about the students, faculty, and staff at Northwest Christian?
As a student I was so grateful for the fact that the faculty and staff knew me personally; my story, who I was, where I came from, and where I wanted to go in life. I wasn't just another name or face in classes and around campus.

Now, even after much growth that detail hasn't changed. Our faculty and staff truly care about our students and it contributes greatly to the growth and development of our student body.

Advice for Incoming Students:
It's a wonderful thing, attending a college which promotes and encourages spiritual growth. But don't assume the campus experience will be enough. Get involved in a local church and be sure to seek God on your own. Your personal growth along with the challenge and growth you'll receive in the classroom will be a rich experience - one you'll never regret.

All the personal, and often hysterical, stories I hear from alumni. I love being reminded just how important Northwest Christian is to the development of who we become as adults.

Greatest Accomplishment so far:
My daughter, Ainsley Elizabeth (born January 7, 2008)
