Our Scholarships
NCU offers many different kinds of scholarships for academics,
leadership, music, athletics and more. You can combine various
grants and scholarships to reduce the cost of tuition. Our
scholarships include:
Merit Scholarships:
$5,000-$11,000
Available to all incoming traditional daytime undergraduate
students who meet our merit requirements, regardless of need. Merit
scholarships are renewable up to four years provided that a student
maintains a 3.0 or greater cumulative grade point average.
First-time freshman can receive from $5,000 to $11,000 in academic
awards; transfer students can receive from $3,000 to $9,000. See
the chart below to figure out your merit scholarship academic base
award.

Note: GPA is based on an unweighted 4.00. NCU reserves the
right to recalculate GPA if not officially calculated on a 4.00
scale.
Ethical Leadership Bonus Awards: $500-$1000
Available to all incoming traditional undergraduate
students who qualify for Northwest Christian University's merit
scholarship program. Additional bonuses of $500 each are awarded
for
1) Active role in a Christian Church or Christian organization,
such as youth group, Young Life, mission trips, Sunday school
teacher, VBS leader or worship leader, and
2)Leadership role in high school, college or community service
organization, such as student government, club officer, peer
mentor, Boy/Girl scouts, yearbook editor, or team captain.
Visit Scholarship: $500
Prospective students who make a formal visit to
campus will be awarded a $500 visit scholarship upon attendance.
Students may either schedule a visit to campus or attend Preview
Days.
Music Scholarships: Variable Amounts
Scholarships are available to traditional daytime
undergraduate students with musical abilities. Music scholarships
are determined by the music department and an audition is required.

Athletic Scholarships: Variable Amounts
Scholarships are available to traditional
undergraduate student athletes that will be playing on a Northwest
Christian University sports team. All scholarships are determined
by the individual coaches and are not guaranteed to all athletes.
Northwest Christian University offers the following sports:
-Men's and Women's Basketball
-Men's and Women's Soccer
-Men's and Women's Cross Country
-Men's and Women's Golf
-Women's Softball
-Women's Volleyball

Endowed Scholarships
Over 40 Endowed Scholarships are awarded each year to traditional
undergraduate students in varying amounts. Most have specific
qualification criteria based on the donor funding the scholarship.
The Financial Aid Office evaluates information from application and
FAFSA results to determine an appropriate match.
NCU Grants
Grants are based on financial need, and do not need to be
paid back. We offer a variety of grants, including:
NCU Church Matching Grant: Up to
$1,000
NCU will match funds gifted to students from churches, up to a
maximum of $1,000 per year.
Heritage Grant: $2,500
Available to students with membership in the Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ or the Christian Churches and Churches of
Christ).
Minister's Child Grant: $4,000
Available to dependents of ordained or licensed
ministers, and/or dependents of missionaries in the above-named
churches.
Sibling Grant: $750
For students with a dependent sibling attending NCU. The amount is
awarded to each sibling.
NCU Need Grants: $600-$6,000
Awarded to full-time traditional daytime undergraduate students who
demonstrate financial need.
