Community Outreach
"If NCU were to disappear, would anyone notice?" In campus
ministries we strive to make sure that the answer to this question
is a resounding, "YES!" Through various projects we aspire to
insure that our community will take note of Northwest
Christian University and be impacted greatly by services that
our students are performing in Eugene and Lane County.
Embrace The Community (ETC) Day
The NCU campus finds it very important to connect not only with
the community that we are a part of, but also that of the greater
Eugene area. Twice a year, we take a day out of the classroom to
serve as a community together. Various projects include working at
Hosea Youth International, Food for Lane County, The Eugene
Mission, Hannah's House, and many more. Students have the
opportunity to continue serving throughout the year and continually
make an impact for the cause of Christ.
Project Hope
At the beginning of the school year, NCU students have the
opportunity to serve the Eugene/Springfield area with huge impact.
Students have completed various projects in
the community: handing out school supplies for elementary
students, cleaning up schools before the start of the year, or
handing out lunches to the homeless.
Parable
The Parable Drama Team is a group of people with a heart for
reaching the lost through evangelistic ministry on the streets.
Parable performs dramas that portray the truth of the gospel and
share the love of Jesus through conversation. This ministry is
often seen on the streets of the Eugene/Springfield area as well as
in Corvallis, Salem, and Portland.
