DirectoryEmily Johnston, M.A.

Resident Director and Coordinator for Student Programs

B.A. Azusa Pacific University
M.A. Fuller Theological Seminary

Responsibilities:

Serve the residents of Burke-Griffeth Residence Hall through holistic care and leadership development as well as crisis support and building management. Help coordinate events through student programs such as Beacon Nights, intramurals and Family Weekend.

Favorite NCU Memory:

I came to NCU in 2017, so I’m still getting to know NCU. I love that the intimate community of a university like NCU creates space for significant relationship building and a family atmosphere amongst faculty, staff and students.

Best Part of My Job:

Walking alongside students as they become more of who God has created them to be and how their gifts and passions intersect with the needs of our world.

Favorite Hangout Spot in Eugene:

I love exploring anywhere outdoors.

Tips for College Success:

Robert Frost said, “The best way out is always through.” When things get challenging (academically, relationally, spiritually, emotionally), press into the challenge rather than avoiding it.

Favorite Bible Verse:

1 Thessalonians 2:8 “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.”
