DirectoryJames Watson, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor, English

Ph.D. Baylor University
B.A. Portland State University

Dr. Watson’s research interests cover the breadth of the truly breathtaking twentieth century—primarily exploring the ways writers have made meaning in the wake of the “crisis of representation” brought on by the loss of faith in the power of words to signify. He has published on Cormac McCarthy, Hemingway and Derrida. Otherwise, he relishes every moment with his wife and five sons and cat and garden and old motorycle.
