International Students - Graduate

NCU welcomes students from around the world to our campus in Eugene, Oregon. NCU offers a variety of Graduate Programs that can be completed on-campus or online. Recent students have joined us from Brazil, Denmark, China, Mexico, Romania, El Salvador, South Korea, and Canada.

International Application Process

  1. Submit a free online application. Complete the application for admission in its entirety. An application without completed essays, contact information, or listed references will be considered incomplete until that information is provided.
  2. Submit official transcripts. You must provide official transcripts from each secondary and post-secondary school attended. These transcripts must be officially translated into English and must be sent directly from the school(s). Official transcripts for schools outside of the United States must be evaluated by an approved international credentialing service. Please submit official transcripts to the World Education Services (WES) or ACEI Global. This evaluation will take approximately two to four weeks so please plan accordingly. Documents sent directly to the university without evaluation are considered unofficial and will not be acceptable for admission.
  3. Demonstrate English proficiency. Applicants from non-English speaking countries are required to submit official exam results demonstrating English proficiency. We accept the Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the IELTS with minimum passing scores (see below).
  4. Submit a resume. A resume that reflects a minimum of two years of work experience, community service, and/or program development responsibilities. Your resume can be uploaded as part of the free online application or submitted separately once an application has been submitted.
  5. Provide documentation of financial support. According to the U.S. government, all applicants must demonstrate they have sufficient funds to pay tuition costs and living expenses while at NCU. As a part of the application process, international applicants must submit current and reliable documentation of their ability to pay the full cost of education and living expenses for the entire degree program. You must send a bank statement or certificate of balance prepared within the last six months or a scholarship letter with your application as proof of our financial resources.
  6. Interview with the admissions committee as applicable.

English Proficiency Requirement

We accept the Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the IELTS with minimum passing scores as follows:

Computer-based TOEFL: 173
Paper-based TOEFL: 550
Internet-based TOEFL: 80
ACT Composite: 19
SAT Composite: 900
IELTS: 6.0

Students wishing to use the American English Institute or English as a Second Language program completion to demonstrate English proficiency will need to provide NCU with official transcripts from the program.
